Being born and raised in England until the age of 15, Oliver would battle the harsh English winter to follow his passion of sailing.

Oliver has had his sights set on Olympic Gold since he first started sailing at the age of 4 in an Optimist.

He progressed very quickly and became a member of the national team at 11 years old. Winning a few National Titles along the way.

In 2006 at 15 years old Oliver’s family migrated to Australia in search of greener pastures. They settled in Melbourne, which is arguably one of the greatest sporting cities on the world.

Oliver completed his VCE at Mentone Grammar and was a school Prefect, graduating in 2008.

He soon started collecting State and National Titles, as well as proving himself internationally and on the senior circuit.

These results lead to him being selected into the Victorian Institute of Sport Sailing Team, as well as the Australian Sailing Squad.

Oliver had a tendency to outgrow most of the class of boats he sailed, and has now found his perfect fit in the Finn.

Oliver moved into the Finn at the end of 2010, and his results were impressive. He has continued to evolve and develop as a sailor.

Oliver is dedicating everything to pursue and be able to achieve his goal of winning the Gold Medal in Rio.
